Growing Toward the Sun, Following the Light | Jiangsu Xinya's 2023 Autumn Team-Building Trip to Hangzhou

Golden October is a season of harvest and celebration. The autumn skies are clear and the sunshine is just right. During this beautiful osmanthus-scented season, Jiangsu Xinya resumed its team-building travel benefit after the three years of the COVID-19 pandemic, both to strengthen team cohesion and unity and to enrich everyone’s cultural life beyond busy work. On October 28–29, all Jiangsu Xinya employees traveled to Hangzhou, renowned as a “paradise on earth,” for a two-day team-building trip.

First stop

Songcheng

After a four-hour drive from Yangzhou, we arrived at our first stop, Hangzhou Songcheng.

At Songcheng, a succession of themed performances filled the area with music and dance, offering more to see than we could take in.

The stage brought traditional culture and modern technology together, turning Liangzhu civilization, a Song-dynasty palace banquet, scenes of war and legends of West Lake into a magnificent and magical historical panorama—and a breathtaking visual and auditory experience.

We not only enjoyed the beauty of this “paradise on earth,” but also learned more about Hangzhou’s history and culture and the authentic culture of the Great Song dynasty.

Second stop

Lingyin Temple

At this thousand-year-old temple, incense burned in abundance and visitors arrived in an unending stream to pray for blessings. Entering its grand halls, we heard the sound of Buddhist chants all around us and saw solemn images of the Buddhas. With palms joined in reverence, we paid our respects and found a moment of inner calm and renewal.

Third stop

West Lake

From a distance, the green hills looked like ink-washed brushstrokes; up close, willows along the causeway seemed veiled in mist. Walking beside West Lake felt like stepping into a delicately balanced landscape painting, allowing us to appreciate its singular liveliness and grace.

Fourth stop

Yue Fei Temple

After visiting West Lake, we toured Yue Fei Temple and felt the patriotism and devotion to serving his country embodied by Yue Fei, the renowned general who resisted the Jin and a national hero.

A meeting with local cuisine

During our two days in Hangzhou, we also tasted West Lake Longjing tea and local specialties.

Happy times are always brief and beautiful, and every one of us should cherish them. We thank the company for organizing this team-building trip. It brought colleagues closer and helped us get to know one another better. In beautiful October, we shared laughter at Songcheng, West Lake, Lingyin Temple and Yue Fei Temple, and returned with wonderful memories of Hangzhou.
